Last Employee Hired is a game inspired by the anxiety onset due to the preparation for job interviews during and after college graduation. The game focuses on the strengths and weaknesses of candidates-for-hire in IS-specific job positions. In collaboration with Makesha Hillery with University Career Services, AIS has created a fun and interactive way to gain an understanding on how to become competitive in IS-related career fields.
Last Employee Hired is about a company looking for the most competitive employee in the labor market before the nation-wide hiring freeze. Human Resource Manager (the moderator) has been tasked to hire a professional, recent-graduate that is innovative, personable, and has a broad knowledge of Information Systems.
In order to complete the task in a time-efficient manner, the Human Resource Manager has created a list of criteria and characteristics in which he/she will match against each candidate.
Candidates (members) will be evaluated on, but not limited to, the following criteria:
- Appropriate attire
- Manicured hair and nails
- Critical Skills
- Common IS-Related Interview Questions
- Example: "How comfortable are you working in a work environment characterized by ambiguity?"
- Other common criterium hiring managers typically look at during interviews
- Body language
- Heavy use of "umm", "like", and "so"
Do you have what it takes to be the last employee hired?
The last candidate standing will receive a gift basket full of"Dorm Essentials":
- 1 full size laundry deterge
- 1 pack dryer sheets
- 1 Hand soap
- 1 pack Clorox wipes
- 2 Composition notebooks
- 3 Small folders
- 1 pack of Bandaids
- 1 Kleenex to go pack
